WordPress launches AI assistant for site design and editing
TL;DR
WordPress introduces an AI assistant for easy site design changes. This tool simplifies editing for users without technical skills.
WordPress has announced a new artificial intelligence assistant integrated into websites, allowing users to make layout and design changes through simple commands. The feature was launched on October 17 and is available for the editor and media library.
The AI assistant operates similarly to an AI website builder, understanding the design and content of the page to facilitate changes without advanced technical knowledge. Users can adjust styles, layouts, and patterns with natural language commands, such as "make this section look more modern."
Additionally, in the media library, the assistant generates new visual elements and edits existing photos using Google's Nano Banana model. Users can request specific images, like "generate an image of a calico cat reading a book."
The AI assistant is available at no extra cost for sites on the WordPress.com Business and Commerce plans. To activate the tool, users simply need to access site settings and enable "AI Tools." The feature is optimized for block themes and is not available for classic themes.
With the introduction of the AI assistant, WordPress aims to simplify site editing and design, providing a tool that helps users enhance their websites efficiently and intuitively.
